Tech

I like technology that works well. I praise the machine and I praise automation - what I don't like is AI taking executive decisions instead of humans. IBM put it better than I can, back in 1979: "A computer can never be held accountable, therefore a computer must never make a management decision." That slide is older than most people currently ignoring it.

I like and support open software. Directly, not as an aesthetic - orgs like the FSF and the EFF do work that matters and they should be supported by people who benefit from it.

I doubt everything as a principle. Governments, secret services, companies, other people - and my own things too, including the ones where doubting is against my interests. Talking is cheap. Facts are the real thing.

Yes, a Steam Deck. It sits in a dock, it runs SteamOS, and it does software development perfectly well. And gaming, obviously. It's a Linux box with a handle.

I like tools that let people exchange and store value without surveillance or permission. Monero, in particular: real digital cash without surveillance or gatekeepers.
